Mindset

Mindset is the way you think and interpret situations, and it's also habits you have. A fixed mindset is the worst, they don't change bad habits and negative thoughts such as : " I can't do this ", " I'm either good at it or I'm not " etc. A growth mindset is a good and positive way of thinking, and also it makes you work hard to improve, learn from mistakes, etc. I have a growth mindset but I also have some habits of a fixed one. 

When I'm frustrated I give up (but that's because I only get frustrated after persevering and trying new strategies and something still doesn't turn out good). I can always improve and learn anything I want to, and my mistakes help me to learn. If my classmates succeed, for instance Paula, it makes me happy for her and it inspires and motivates me to work harder and help others.

Peste Negra

La Peste Negra es una enfermedad que causa manchas negras en la piel y muerte un poco después de fiebre. Llegó a Europa a mediados del siglo XIV, entre 1346 - 1347, y duró casi 200 años. Al mismo tiempo habían muchos otros enfermedades ( como gripe, lepra... ) pero la Peste Negra fue la más inesperada y con el más pavoroso impacto. Gracias a él, murieron un tercio de la población en solo 10 años. Al morir tanta gente, sus riquezas se repartían y empezaron más conflictos entre nobles y trabajadores por los salarios. 

Our trip to the snow!

At school, our gym teacher organized a trip to the snow for the most well-behaved students. Since there were only 48 seats, eight children per class were chosen. Luckily me and some of my friends were chosen and we went to the snow together.

The bus ride wasn't very long, but it was a bit boring so I listened to music on my phone. Some people got dizzy but I brought some mints with me to prevent that.

When we arrived, we quickly got changed into our waterproof snow clothes because some of us had kept them in the bag to not wear them at school. Then, we walked to the lift that would take us to the top of the hill. 

I didn't really like it because it was small and I am claustrophobic.

Once we arrived, we ate and then we went to get ski boots. They were uncomfortable and heavy, and when we were wearing them it was harder to walk! It was funny watching everyone struggle. We were also given the skis that were even more heavy and we had to carry them for a long time. 

When we could finally start skiing, I was exhausted, and not all of us found it good. Me and my friends struggled and the tutor wasn't much help. He actually got angry with us, but at least we tried our best! 

I fell over a lot of times and it was very funny! The only bad thing that happened was when I tumbled down the hill since I was grabbing on the floor trying to slow down my gloves got soaked so I had to remove them and then I cut my hand on ice!

Anyway, after that, it was time to eat. We all sat down to eat lunch. Some had sandwiches, chicken nuggets, salad, etc. After eating we had an hour or more of free time. Some people went to ski again but I didn't. If the tutor wasn't so mean, maybe I would've gone up there again!

Instead, me and my friends played in the snow (snow ball fights, dance... ).

And that was it! After that we simply packed everything up, gave back the ski equipment and went back to the school by bus! I really liked the experience and I would like to try it again.

Expulsión de Judíos de España

En 1492, los Reyes Católicos ordenador la expulsión de judíos de España (principalmente Castilla y Aragón) ya que no querían que más cristianos se judaizaran. Todo sucedió en Granada, el 31 de marzo. Muchas personas estaban afectadas por esto y por eso es un caso de España muy contrevido, y el asunto más debatido a lo largo del reinado de los Reyes Católicos.

Abadía de San Gal

Esta abadía fue uno de los principales en su época pero en la actualidad queda poco del monasterio original medieval. La mayor parte de las edificaciones se edificaron a un estilo tardobarroco. El monasterio fue hecho con todo lo necesario para la vida (molino, panadería, establos, etc).

Está situada en Suiza, la ciudad de Sankt Gallen.

Fue declarada Patrimonio de la Humanidad en 1983.

Lamentación sobre Cristo Muerto

Esta pintura gótica fue pintada por Giotto, un pintor italiano. Este cuadro es una de las más expresivos y intensos por su dramatismo.

Esta hecha al fresco, y los personajes (María, apóstoles, Ángeles...) expresan dolor con gestos de desesperación llorando, cubriéndose la cara... y algunas se muestran dobladas sobre sí misma del dolor. Alrededor de las figuras tristes, hay un paisaje con una montaña rocosa y un árbol. 

Monasterio de Leyre

El Monasterio de Leyre es uno de los conjuntos más importantes en España por su historia y arquitectura. Se ha conservado bastante bien puesto que el edificio perteneció al periodo románico y tiene muy buenos ejemplares de él.

Este monasterio está a 52km de la capital de Navarra y está situado en una balconada natural en el sur de una sierra. Dicha balconada se alza sobre el valle del río Aragón. 

En su vegetación hay hayas, pinos, carrascales, etc. La fauna más destacable es el quebrantahuesos.
